Job Details

Cabinet: Tourism, Arts and Heritage
Department: Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Resources
Divison: Information and Education

  • Works with agency heads and other division directors to ensure proper production of Hunting, Fishing, Trapping and Boating Guides including interpretation of regulations, compilation, printing, distribution and contracts.
  • Ensures accurate and appropriate production of Kentucky Afield Television weekly outdoor show and Kentucky Afield Magazine.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for conservation education programs and residential conservation camps.
  • Develop and manage division budget, ensuring compliance of all Federal Aid funded activities. Represent agency on committees, councils or meetings.
  • Directs operation of the Salato Wildlife Education Center, ensuring safety of visitors and staff. Evaluates policies and procedures affecting the health and wellbeing of animals on exhibit, ensuring compliance with Federal and State animal welfare laws.
  • Responsible for success of customer based programs for recruitment and retention (Hunter Education, National Archery in the Schools, Aquatic Education, Becoming an Outdoors Woman).
  • Confer and advise on development of agency law, regulations, policies and procedures and other duties as required.
Education preferences and/or minimum requirements:
Sufficient education which would assure the knowledge, skills and abilities to accomplish agency objectives.

Experience preferences and/or minimum requirements:
Sufficient professional level administrative experience which would assure the knowledge, skills and abilities to accomplish agency objectives. Prefer experience in conservation education.

Pay Grade: 19 ($56,756.88 - $75,190.08)
Work Week: M-F, 7.5 hrs/day, 37.5 hrs/wk
Location: Frankfort, KY
