Construction/Operations Project Manager, Kentucky Communications Network Authority

The Kentucky Communications Network Authority (KCNA) and its Board manages and oversees the KentuckyWired network, the Commonwealth's open-access broadband network. KentuckyWired is focused on meeting current needs for government locations, but more importantly, positioning Kentucky to be a national leader in high-capacity Internet service connections which promote economic development, enhance education and research capabilities, ensure public safety, improve healthcare delivery, and augment connectivity for libraries and communities. KCNA is part of the General Government Cabinet and is administratively attached to the Office of the Governor.

Job Details

This position will have oversight and/or assist with office activities, such as: site and network migration planning, scheduling and implementing; operations strategic planning, schedule management of various network construction activities; stakeholder engagement and change management. Performs other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements/Preferences:

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in managing telecommunications networks or related role
  • Project management experience a plus; PMI/PMP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated capabilities in analytical analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Word
  • Prior working level experience with Primavera project management application software a plus
  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Professionalism while interacting with all levels of leadership across multiple organizations
Salary (approximate, depending on experience): $75,000
Work Schedule: Full Time (Mon - Fri; 40 hrs/wk)
Location: Frankfort, KY
